I’m an environmentalist in the broadest sense, but currently work on resource use issues specifically and some related economics, for Friends of the Earth. I hate wasting anything – time, effort, food or resources. So, I can usually be found making or upcycling things, cooking or out and about.

I left the charity sector behind to join TfL in 2014 and now work as a project manager on upgrades to Underground stations. Luckily I brought my activist spirit with me and have helped establish the TfL pension divestment campaign; chair the Carers Staff Network Group to ensure better inclusion of carers within the TfL workforce; and apply my passion for sustainability to my role, nudging TfL to make all of our infrastructure projects as carbon-efficient as possible, the focus of my recent MSc dissertation.

My experience is in political campaigning having been an organiser for the Labour Party in 2015 and a Campaign Manager for Alan Whitehead in the 2017 General Election. Alan is the MP for Southampton Test and Shadow Energy and Climate Change Minister and I currently work in his constituency office where we are fighting to improve local air quality, raise standards in the private rented sector and secure fairer funding for local 6th Form Colleges. I’m also a trustee at Southampton Women’s Aid working to combat domestic violence in the city.

I'm a social entrepreneur, TEDx speaker, trained life coach, and writer for the HuffPost & Metro. I believe education needs to do much more to equip young people for life beyond the classroom. So I spend my day making that happen as CEO of social enterprise Revolution Hive. We work with young people via our YouTube channel, and programmes in schools/colleges/universities to teach them the skills they need to be ready for life as leaders in the 21st century.
