UNPACKED: Introducing Rakesh Prashara

Introducing UNPACKED graduate, Rakesh. Read to find out more about his experience in educating for social change and how you can get in touch with him.

How did you start/become interested in educating for social change?

I am an organiser – I organise around environmental justice within local communities. Over time, I began to understand my own values and become more vocal about what is important to me. As a result, I have ended up in spaces where I’m educating for social change. It was never something I wanted to do, it has just become part of what I do.

What are your top 3 strengths as an educator?

I am passionate, present and I embrace conflict.

What’s next for you in your educating/movement/organising etc. work?
Find work, study for masters and carry on organising! I recently have gotten involved in a campaign against opencast coal, which you can find out more about here
What else might people want to know about you or what you do?
I like to be involved in as much as possible and I like to challenge myself.
