The Bootcamp team continues to grow!

We’ve said goodbye to some members of the team this year as they move on to new roles but we’ve also said hello to new teammates and look forward to developing Campaign Bootcamp with their support.

We’ve asked new staff members to introduce themselves to the Bootcamp community, so that you could get a bit of insight into our hard working team. Scroll down to read a bit more our new staff!

Anu, Senior Fundraising Coordinator

Anu is our Senior Fundraising Coordinator and a Bootcamp graduate – some of you may remember Anu from Bootcamp 14! Anu told us she found the experience incredible in terms of training and the amazing community of people she met.

What are you most excited about in your new role?
I’m most excited about being able to advocate for the importance of the work the organisation does, because I can clearly see the impact it has on people’s lives and campaigning! I am proud to be part of the Bootcamp community.

What campaigns are you interested in / passionate about?
My campaigning interests are varied! At the moment, my focus is on racial equality and justice – anything from hostility towards migrants to addressing inequality and lack of representation in the charity sector to raising children to be anti-racist.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love cooking, and have more recently got into baking. I enjoy travelling, volunteering, and more than anything in the world, sharing quality time with my nearly 5 year old which mostly involves pretending to be on a TV show, or critically analysing children’s books!

Rhianna, Community Coordinator

Rhianna is our Community Coordinator, sharing her role with Bailey. You will see Rhianna reach out to you on social media no doubt! Some of you will meet Rhianna at Residential Bootcamp in October, please give her a warm welcome when you met her!

What are you most excited about in your new role?
I’m excited to meet all the campaigners who attend our training programs, to listen to their stories, and to figure out ways I can support them with their campaigns after they attend Bootcamp. I also really love working with people and getting to know different personalities.

What campaigns are you interested in / passionate about?
I am interested in many things, but the two causes I am most passionate about are racial justice and working with teenagers on a range of issues such as self-esteem, mental health, sexual and relationship health, and creative expression. I have a lot of younger cousins and seeing some of the issues they are going through, as well as my own experiences, makes me really driven to work with this age-group. I also lived in Germany for a couple of years, where I got involved with working with communities of colour and learned the kind of struggles with racism and the rise of far-right extremism across Europe, which I’m determined to fight.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love going to events – to poetry and comedy nights, cinema, theatre, talks and anything else that’s going on! I organise my own events, so I love to see different ways of creating live experiences and allowing new social interactions to happen. I also like chatting endlessly to my flatmates, chilling in bed, and dancing.

Celine, Finance Manager

Celine is our new Finance Manager, she will be based in our London office.

What are you most excited about in your new role?
I am really excited to learn more about all the work Campaign Bootcamp is doing. I come from a completely different background professionally so it has been an eye opener for me to see how large the campaigning community is and how Campaign Bootcamp is such a big part of it.

What campaigns are you interested in / passionate about?
Campaigns about the environment and against hate crimes and racism would be closest to my heart.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I really enjoy swimming and going for long walks. I love anything to do with crafts, knitting, sewing etc and I love food, especially cheese.

Jess, Head of Operations

Jess is our Head of Operations, she has been incredibly impressed with the impactful work that Campaign Bootcamp does in our society.

What are you most excited about in your new role?
I’m really excited to learn from colleagues and help to further develop a supportive, collaborative and effective work culture to support the organisations wider activity.

What campaigns are you interested in / passionate about?
I’ve enjoyed working in organisations that provide a platform for people to lead and support effective campaigns. I’m passionate about playing a role – however small – in supporting campaigners, such as making sure there’s an accessible space to host events or sourcing the training for colleagues to feel equipped in the workplace.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to cook (and eat!), go to the theatre and spend time in nature with my friends and family.

Sarah, Operations Coordinator

Sarah is our Operations Coordinator, she will also be based in our London office!

What are you most excited about in your new role?
I’m most excited about supporting Campaign Bootcamp to grow as an organisation and reach out to underrepresented groups and parts of the country.  Part of that is supporting the Everyday Activism team to work remotely to deliver trainings to grassroots groups up and down the country.

What campaigning are you passionate about?
One of the main areas of campaigning that I am involved with is against the trade in arms, policing and security equipment that fuels war, repression and the destruction of the environment around the world; everything is interconnected.  I am also passionate about the support work that goes on behind the scenes in activist movements to make them accessible and sustainable.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I spend a lot of my spare time involved in activism but I also enjoy reading, swimming and walking, especially the moors and dales of Yorkshire.  If I get the chance, I love to spend the afternoon in the bath with a good book and a supply of coffee.

… and we’re welcoming our Head of Training back too!

We also welcome back Anna – our Head of Training – from maternity leave, this month! You can read Anna’s bio on the ‘Our Team’ page.
