Campaign Bootcamp is a charity dedicated to ensuring that people most impacted by injustice are leading campaigns that affect their lives. Our programmes are designed to be accessible to anyone who wants to make change happen. We do this because we want to empower people impacted by injustice to have the tools and skills they need to end it. Our work sees us support individuals develop the skills they need to address some of the biggest issues and challenges in society from housing to fairer treatment of migrants and LGBTQ+ rights.
We run three training programmes designed to support activists as they take on bigger issues. Bootcamp Residential is a six-day residential campaign training programme for new and grassroots activists. Everyday Activism is a community-based training programme for individuals or groups who are interested in campaigning on an issue that impacts them, and who have done little to no campaigning in the past. Our Research and Development programme is exploring a range of exciting work, including supporting activists outside the UK.
About the job
To best support and empower people to change the world, we need a board full of ambitious Trustees who can help us develop and implement the strategies, plans and structures to enable our teams to thrive as they deliver our mission. We are a growing organisation, with an annual turnover of £1.5m projected for 2020, with a UK-wide workforce and an international trustee board.
This is an exciting and challenging role. We pride ourselves on having an active trustee board, which understands the difference between governance and day-to-day operations. You’ll work closely with the rest of the Board, our CEO and wider Leadership Team to guide strategic thinking and respond to opportunities and challenges.
Who we’re looking for
We regularly conduct trustee skills audits and have decided to prioritise finding trustees with experience of marketing and communications, fundraising and training. Experience of working with people that have faced injustice is also highly desirable.
It’s important to us that you are excited by our mission, open minded, able to empower our team to take managed risks and bring creative thinking to help us overcome obstacles as we grow. You can be based anywhere in the UK (or within +/- 5 hours of GMT), as most of our meetings are held digitally. We will support with travel costs to our yearly away day near London.
